“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.”

Mission Statement

Indivisible Idaho is a chapter of the grassroots movement based on the principles outlined in the Indivisible Guide. We are dedicated to uniting Idaho’s 35 legislative districts, and we welcome people from every party.

Guiding Mission

The Indivisible strategy focuses on grassroots advocacy. It is based on a local approach to target our individual Members of Congress and hold them accountable. And it works!

  1. We resist authoritarianism. We will challenge any policy that aims to destroy our democracy or targets our community’s civil rights.
  2. We pursue inclusiveness. We work with grassroots organizations, community groups, and individuals to build a broad based coalition of vocal allies for marginalized communities.
  3. We welcome people of all political parties. Our goal is to resist discriminatory policies, and hold our MoC accountable for their action. Our objective is to resist injustice, not each other.

At Indivisible Idaho, we follow the Indivisible Guide and use four local advocacy strategies:

  • Town halls – Town halls are our opportunity as constituents to ask our MoCs questions directly about the votes they cast and the positions they hold. These events are how we make sure our representatives are listening to their constituents.
  • Public events – MoCs love good press, but will do anything to avoid negative stories. When they come home on recess and head to local ribbon cuttings, or to plant some trees we want to ask tough questions about health care policy, immigration reform, and public lands.
  • District office visits – Our MoCs have several district offices across the state. When they are in D.C., we can still meet with their staff and ask that our voices are heard on important issues. When they won’t listen, or refuse to meet, we’ll make sure everyone knows.
  • Coordinated calls – We know calls have a huge impact, especially when they are coordinated for important topics. Phone calls are an opportunity to share personal stories, facts, or to simply call and say you support or oppose a policy (tally call) and you want your MoC to do the same. With thousands of others calling in, phone calls have an impact.
